This doesn't really surprise me considering that a lot of Mormons (specially Mormon women) are involved in many multi-level marketing schemes (Herbalife, Amway, Young Living, you name it) as one really toxic aspect of Mormon culture is achieving material wealth and live like Kim Kardasian (if you ever travel to Utah, you'll probably notice how are more McMansions there than there are McMansions in New York, Texas, or Florida).
Out of the many Christian denominations, Mormonism is the most materialistic and the most hedonistic that it would make even rich televangelists like Kenneth Copeland blush.
The Mormons take the phrase "Keeping up with the Joneses" to a whole new level were many find themselves getting involved in get rich quick schemes because one of the big aspects of Mormon culture is showing off how wealthy and successful they are (which usually involve said Mormons being part of some money making scheme so they can buy poorly built McMansions and brand new cars they can barely afford to show how better than are than most people).
While the Mormon church doesn't officially adopt the Propriety Gospel (which states that God will bless you if you give a lot of your money to a church leader in order to receive God's blessing where many Christians consider this heretical to begin with), the Mormons sure adopt a lot of aspects of the Prosperity Gospel. The Mormons are willing to do anything (and I do mean anything) to make some paper and this includes breaking federal law.
The fact that many Mormons aren't humble and they would rather spend beyond their means to achieve a higher status in society shows me they're more closer to the demon Mammon (the demon of Greed and is one of the Seven Princes of Hell) than they are to God to begin with.
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money (Mammon).
