Maybe its because i know people from that area but especially his generation, were constantly talked to about that in the 2000s. Josh seems to not realize how conservative the people in the suburbs surrounding LA really are, even the neighborhood dick lives now is politically way more similar to ron desantis than contrapoints.

If null fucked off to california all that would happen is he'd try to talk to dick and give a speech that Dick heard from much better more charismatic people, than Dick could use one of the many reasons null has no room to talk and boom, talk over dick won. Josh also doesn't seem to realize he'd be trying to have this talk while dick and all his friends are celebrating the exact opposite viewpoints and there would inevitably be one of dick's friends who'd immediately but in and call josh an incel or loser.
