Moon's early financial success began with the rise of crypto which has been a favorite investment of many Trump supporters. I do not know how much he made from crypto, but it could be a lot. Now any Trump supporter or Christian with a bank account can now use cash to "protect" their rag of a forum which allows them to say "troon," "faggot," "nigger," and stand up for their supposedly trad and wholesome values. Very convenient for Moon, who seems to have ridden out the days of bumming around in supporters' dwellings and depending on crypto handouts. He now has a taste of the consistent income he needs to build his American castle.
Old guard users and people purely interested in the gossip aspect of the forum support Moon financially, but they are no longer the heart of the forum or where the money is. It is ironic that an internet forum devoted to stalking an autistic man child has become a canary for puritanical Americans. Kiwifarms, by standing strong against attacks from the political left, drew the deplatformed right wing in. The Chans are too gross, contested, and fleeting for the Christian right. Green Reddit is better for them because when big news happens they can trust the next featured post button to see highlights from social media without porn or gore, and ignore unsavory users. By catering to this demographic, and their ultimately tepid views, Moon has grown a lucrative userbase.

His downfall was certainly the most popular lolcow topic on the site during its heyday, and the Christian Republican presence on the site has only grown since. Some of the deep roots of CWCki forums are there but Kiwifarms is now a political rag for the Christian right wing of the USA. The star poster of the Iran War thread is so aggressively pro-Trump that it is believable his talking points come directly from the administration. It is possible that he is just another moribund keyboard warrior aggregating Telegram and Discord. He gets upvotes and star poster status, and the userbase gets to click the next featured post button to see "kino" and based takes from Mr.RaceWar1488.
