It doesn't matter how armed he was or whether he had a permit. The anti-ICE movement teaches their protestors not to bring, quote, "weapons of any kind" to a protest, so he was literally violating his own activist training by bringing a gun to a protest. I know they only teach this so they have probable deniability for themselves, but when you knowingly violate your own training what was offered by your own side to keep you and other safe during protesting, I can see why Tim Pool would come out and insist this was "suicide by cop".
