Josh doesn't realize his forum is incredibly unsympathetic to normies. No matter how much Josh tries to make Kiwi Farms mainstream, Kiwi Farms will never not be the website whose goal is to doxx people and harass them into suicide in between chatting with criminals like the Christchurch shooter. That is what Kiwi Farms is to normies. It will never not be that.
Using Kiwi as an example for the injustice of debanking is like using an anime game full of suggestive pictures of 8 year old girls as an argument for free speech. KF users rightfully understand the latter is hopeless and counterproductive, but will never understand their website is on that same level.
I'd like to make the argument that lolicon and shotacon are far more likely to get accepted than Kiwi Farms.
If you've been around the Internet long enough, there are two terms that comes to mind; Safe Horny and Safe Edgy. These two terms refer to things that were once demonized but would become accepted by the masses as the years go by.
I'm old enough to remember when Beavis and Butthead was still brand new and when violence in video games was a hot topic as a social issue at the time. Beavis and Butthead was heavily demonized as the classic comedy cartoon was blamed for encouraging kids and teenagers to engage in bad behavior. There was also a moral panic with video games back in the day when games like Mortal Kombat and Night Trap were thought to teach people to do bad things in real life and some tragic events like Columbine had video games being blamed for America's societal ills (with people like Hillary Clinton and Al Gore leading the charge to ban and censor video games they didn't like back then).
It's been around 25 to 20 years after the fact and now and days Beavis and Butthead is seen as a celebrated cultural icon and video games has become a multimillion dollar industry where these days its now considered political suicide to blame video games for bad stuff happening in real life (anyone is going to look like a complete dumbass and probably become a meme for people to laugh at if anyone still parrots old 1990's political talking points about why they still think video games are bad). To quote the legendary video game developer Shigeru Miyamoto, "Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll". Beavis and Butthead and video games these days have become Safe Horny and Safe Edgy because watching Beavis and Butthead and playing video games these days is as acceptable as watching Breaking Bad or going out to see a movie. The people that demonized Beavis and Butthead (the various parental rights group that wanted the show censored) and the people that wanted video games censored (like Jack Thompson) are no longer relevant anymore and now and days when people bring them up, those moral busybodies are now the subject of joke and ridicule.
So this leads me to Japanese entertainment in general.
In the past few years, anime and manga and entertainment from Japan in general has gotten popular but it's not without its controversies. The genres of lolicon and shotacon are controversial due to them exploring the themes of child sexual abuse However, pop culture in general is no stranger to obscenity controversies where moral busybodies will try to find the lowest hanging fruit they can find and then grift their way to gain more power (often gaining power for very selfish and petty reasons). Pop culture in the past 300 years is no stranger to people trying to censor it. From religious leaders and autocrats back in the 1920's that wanted to censor the cinema industry and the radio to midwit grfiters trying to censor comic books in the 1960's to misguided parental groups and elected officials wanting to censor video games in the 1990's and this brings us to now.
The thing is, anime and manga and Japanese pop culture in general is in a much better position because most liberal democracies fulfill the basics when it comes to respecting human rights (like free speech). There's also the fact that the Japanese entertainment industry has the powerful tool of capitalism under their belt where they can lobby their way to have said laws changed or have said laws repealed that favors them as well as challenging said laws and regulations in a federal court of a liberal democracy over things like free speech.
Kiwi Farms doesn't have this luxury. No corporate lobby group is willing to help them out Kiwi Farms and Jersh has pissed away so many allies that he's now truly alone.
If Kiwi Farms were to get censored tomorrow (whether it's by private entity or by the state or both and that's pretty much the case these days), hardly anyone is going to feel bad for them. It would be just like how the Leftoids are angry that the Right is not coming to their defense because these days the Left is finding themselves getting censored now but they don't get that the reason why the Right won't help the Left out this time around is because the Left has antagonized the Right so much and the Left censored their opponents so much and they took joy in it that the Right won't bother and they would rather let the Left learn a harsh lesson when the reality sets in that no one likes the Left anymore and no one will help out the Left because many Leftoids are so unlikable. It would be the same thing with the anime community and normies where if Kiwi Farms were to get censored tomorrow, no one is going to come to their rescue because Kiwi Farms and Jersh pissed away so many allies and they pissed away so many potential allies that both the anime community and the normies won't help out Kiwi Farms and they would rather let Jersh and Kiwi Farms reap what they sow.
So if Kiwi Farms were to get censored tomorrow, both the anime community and the normies will simply say to them, "I missed the part where that's my problem".
