Who truly knows how much was spent. "A lot" and "most" are two different things. Josh has said conflicting things about how much money was used which I've documented.

The USPG2 thread in Autistic Thunderdome has a lot of thoughtful exchange, and we get along just fine. Maybe he should learn from the very section of the forum he hates so much.

I'll be honest, this is a pretty based take from Jersh.
There are plenty of sound and objective arguments against copyright laws in general. One big argument against copyright laws is that they prevent actual competition with entertainment companies.
Take Disney as an example, one of the big reasons why you hardly see any other film studio doesn't make their own takes on Snow White or Cinderella or Bambi is because most film studios don't want to be sued if their films they make based on classic fairy tales can be deemed too similar to the Disney versions (the only reason why Shrek exists is because that is a parody of classic Disney films and so it's different enough where Disney cannot sue Dreamworks).
Copyright laws are just government regulations that give a few powerful entertainment companies a monopoly on said ideas and often hinders creative freedom. So do copyright laws hinder free speech? The answer is 'Yes' and in this case creative freedom is being trampled on because copyright laws grant big powerful corporations a monopoly on said ideas. So it makes sense to abolish or (realistically) reform copyright laws so that they don't get abused to force anything or anyone into being censored. You can also make a free market argument in nerfing copyright laws by pointing out that it would be very pro-capitalism to nerf copyright laws so that no one has a monopoly on ideas anymore and you create more competition which means creating an incentive to create better entertainment (this would actually force the Walt Disney Company to get creative and stop relying on pure nostalgia as a clutch for their movies).
Even with this said, I doubt Jersh will be the one leading the war against the developed world's broken copyright laws. Why do I think this? Because the big entertainment studios will crush Jersh like a bug. Jersh has dealt with lolcows that wanted to censor him and Kiwi Farms but he has never fought big and powerful private corporations before. The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, Dreamworks, Warner Bros., Paramount, Lionsgate Studios, Columbia Pictures, Amblin Partners, and many others are armed to the teeth with fancy expensive lawyers that have fancy Ivy League degrees and corporate lobbying groups that will fight on behalf of the best interests of the entertainment industry. Jersh does not stand a chance against Corporate America anyway.

Primarily copyright laws were in place to limit the amount of blatant plagiarism and force some actual creativity in the entertainment and art industries. If a company ended up being sued by disney over classic fairy tale characters, its often because they didn't try to do their own thing at all and just tried to palette swap actual disney characters.

Moon already makes money off other people's work. It's called the Kiwi Farms. He doesn't write the threads, make most of the posts, document the cows, or make the video clips. He just uses it for stream content to get superchats. The whole Farms is built on anonymous unpaid slave labor. He takes credit for all of it, when there is recognition to be had. But will toss his users under the bus if they embarrass him. Then you never existed.
Moon has a point when he says "no one wants thoughtful exchange." He is projecting. He doesn't want to hear that his male feminist worldview is stupid or for people to tell him how to lose weight, as 2 examples. He is as stubborn and close-minded as anyone else, if not more so.

Jersh is only doing this for the optics, he doesn't want Destiny to screw him over if he continues to allow this nonsense to further plague the Destiny thread.
Jersh had no problem with this until he was faced with the possibility of Destiny screwing him and Kiwi Farms over civil damages where the Kiwis justify Destiny being molested as a child.
Jersh doesn't care that Destiny was a victim of child sexual abuse (he doesn't really care if the Kiwis A-Log lolcows so long as it doesn't affects him), he only cares about his bottom line and Jersh only cares about this now because it's horrible optics for him to do nothing.
Josh claims to have been left in the dark in regards to Vincent Zhen's decision to settle the defamation lawsuit with Liz-Fong Jones, which Josh funded with his Lolcow Litigation Fund in hopes of overturning the decision on full.
(Though it could also be a lie for legal reasons or to save face to his users who largely funded the case.)
