I'd be more willing to believe her if they had tried more aggressive methods of treatment before resorting to radiation. Surprised she's not on a feeding tube if she's doing so poorly, and that hasn't been discussed. Most treatment of metabolic issues outside of medication is dietary unless they can detect a specific issue with the thyroid like Graves, tumors/nodules, etc.
Dysautonomia is nervous system related and not related to typical autoimmune disorders. It is classed as an autoimmune disorder because it goes against what the body is "programmed" to do. Also, some types of dysautonomia can be triggered by EDs and drug abuse. Namely gastroparesis. Again, treated with a feeding tube.
Elaine really should know better than to try this shit with people who take joy in berating illness fakers.
