I would not be surprised to see someone access the list of e-mail addresses registered on KF and post it online as a list of hateful transphobes to black ball. Anyone careless enough to use an e-mail addresses tied to their resume or social media account with their real name might be screwed.

This new turn is absolutely indefensible though and I am honestly in awe from the standpoint of someone who works with sensitive data. Imagine telling this to users and customers and the response you'd get. Telling your users and customers that you're going to do exactly what you said you'd do in the disclaimers, terms of service and multiple discussions over the past 3 years, supported by consistent statements made in your livestream...i'd quite like it if most sysadmins behaved that way. They don't. The list of data breaches from most commercial enterprises is pretty fucking staggering. My credit card gets hit about 3 times a year. In large scale, massive breaches, some of which the company doesn't even announce until you ask. If you're this afraid of what you post on kiwi farms, you made a very poor life decision setting up and maintaining your account.

How can you be like "the corporations are bad etc etc" and "they are out to fuck you over." In the same breath refuse to nuke and position yourself to sell the data because that's what he is going to do.

Honestly the flood of obvious socks for people dumb enough to sign up with doxing emails was the funniest part of that hack.
I remember a dude who was the online personification of an anti-sjw soyjack creating a new username and starting feuds with anyone who had a mildly positive opinion of new Marvel movies within 12 hours of Null offering account deletions. He always got assmad when I called him out on it too. Wonder where the hell he wound up.

Its no secret that many employers Google their prospects and make harsh judgements based what they find. Its less about absolute black balling and more like, "Do I take applicant A with a clean track record, or applicant B who has apparent ties to a criminal harassment factory?" Applicant A wins major preferential points because companies hate taking on unnecessary risk, especially a vague risk that they aren't sure about.
