No, he has an issue with it because this is someone who went out of their way to target his users and have his website taken down. LFJ isn't just "someone" anyone, he is Null's personal nemesis. This is all very personal for him.
Yes. I agree. But you miss my point entirely. If this was Russell Greer suing him and trying to censor the site using DMCA, Josh would feel exactly the same. It's not unique to LFJ. Josh only has an issue with the censorship because someone else is compelling him to do it. It's hypocrisy. Josh censors and removes posts all the time. He locks threads. He deletes threads. He bans people, etc. What he can't stand is that LFJ is using the law to COMPELL him to do something such as remove a post. His ego and ODD is under attack so he's quite upset. But the actual behavior of removing a post or pic is something Josh does ALL THE TIME. He's just really upset that for the first time on his own site, someone has power over him.
You can't do that once you've received a subpoena. A subpoena puts you on notice to retain the requested information. All you can do is dispute your obligation to hand it over, but you can't just go and "lock it down" (let's say, encrypt all your log files and claim you "just" forgot the password to have them decrypted), because that's considered non-compliance with the subpoena and then you're in big trouble, legally.
When I say I would "lock down" the LFJ threads, I do not mean I would go delete everything and sabotage the subpoena information. I mean I would lock those individual threads about LFJ where spergs are posting his lawsuit-bait pics and attacking him, thinking they're being edgy for the free speech cause. So at the very least, there would be no new LFJ DMCA's coming in. That would protect any new users from getting DMCA'ed by LFJ or threatened with litigation. And the subpoena would not be violated.

I don't know that I've seen anyone say that but ok. It's fine though if they do, as we are all just speculating on this whole case.
Null is obviously not going to get himself into even bigger legal mess than he already is just to protect his users.
He's not some free speech martyr who will self-sacrifice everything for The Cause.
Oh, I agree 100%. He has said as much. He implied on the latest stream that he has looked at each user getting DMCA'ed and they didn't protect their opsec. Which I take to mean, that they didn't use a VPN and he's looking at their logged naked IP addresses. And he knows if he can't quash the subpoena that info is going to LFJ.
