honestly it reminds me of reddit. shittalking islam was perfectly fine on reddit and you could say the same shit MAAAD did way back in 2015 and it would be like front page worthy.
but then the mods started clamping down, the more radical people got banned and overall the lefties would mock those types. the miami nightclub shooting was a huge breaking point because reddit hid all the posts about it and it was only /r/thedonald that allowed coverage.
you couldn't even shittalk islam when the san bernadino shooting happened a few months later. like kiwifarms is about as obnoxiously leftist as 2019 reddit at this point. the blatant #always believe women and banning of dissidents and massive groupthink.
i've also noticed that the right wing types that used to be everywhere on the forum aren't anymore. the off topic threads openly mock them and their side now. If we're being honest, online its almost like 2014 again with how much pushback republicans have gotten. very few people under 50 like Trump now, and the GOP is probably at its lowest level in terms of favorability among the youth in a very long time. kiwifarms being mostly people age 30-50 and heavily women, this is probably the most leftist kiwifarms has been since Null took over.
Null's political beliefs are tolerated but overall the entire site has moved on from him, exactly the way SA moved on from Lowtax a decade ago. Null just managed to never have a wife or kids so he managed to avoid the things that took Lowtax down, but overall the site has declined in exactly the same way SA did.

This wasn't really entirely the case even back in the days of Old School Reddit.
The Reddit jannies of back in the day also censored stuff critical of Islam, especially if you were on those anti-Christian subreddits like r/atheism back in the day.
Back in the day, the Reddit jannies were also pushing a narrative and in this case it was the narrative being pushed by the New Atheism movement that was prevalent back in the 2000's and the early-2010's where many Internet Atheists back in the day preached 'Organized Religion Bad'. But even the problems with Western left-wing thought was still present on the Internet back then.
Many Internet Atheists from back in the day would make rounds in being critical of Christianity but that's the thing, they were mostly critical of Christianity but never bothered to touch other religions.
Part of the reason why Internet Atheism collapsed was because it was clear for many people on the Internet that a lot of Internet Atheists were degenerate left-wingers that were just trauma dumping about their childhood experiences with Christianity and used the Internet as their therapist instead of just seeing a therapist in order to get over and cope with past traumatic experiences from their youth. Another reason why people on the Internet would turn against Reddit-styled atheism was because many atheists on Reddit were hypocrites because they were willing to dunk on Christianity but many online atheists actively avoided criticizing Islam (despite Islam being worse than Christianity) because their left-wing beliefs told them that being critical of Islam is "racist" and only the "evil" Republicans trashed on Islam (which showed many people on the Internet that a lot of online atheists at the time were just pseudointellectual grifters).
Even back in the day, the Online Left still have these issues that you still see today; you can't make fun of Islam, Christianity and Capitalism are the source of the world's evils, real Socialism has never been tried, trans women are women, kids should have access to HRT, and other retarded nonsense that still makes the Left-Wingers look bad.
Even if we see a new surge of left-wing thought on the Internet (as it always has been because the political pendulum always keeps swinging between the Left and the Right), the Online Left will once again make themselves look like massive retards in the same way New Atheism and Breadtube made themselves look retarded and eventually collapsed where by the start of the 2010's New Atheism imploded and more recently the Internet has witnessed the collapse of Breadtube. Because even today the Online Left still hasn't learned from the harsh lessons of the collapse of New Atheism or from the more recent collapse of Breadtube anyway.
