They actually both got the point wrong. It wasn't an aesthetic that stagnated in the 1950s, The lore of fallout is that it's a universe where retro futurism came true (so basically what people thought the year 2000 would look like in 1950)

I'm actually very fond of retro futurism and Jess sometimes finds me old magazines or comics that portray it. How much they got right and how much they got wrong is so fascinating.

He's just an asshole. He's a smug arrogant unwarranted little prick who only talks and acts the way he does because nobody knows where to find him.

It would be worth the weekend in jail and 3 months of probation to knock him the fuck out. That's always the funniest thing ever when someone who doesn't realize that there's nothing keeping you from hitting them in the face gets hit. The wide-eyed look of shock of "oh no I'm not behind my computer. Life is not a video game and I can't change the channel on this. I'm getting my ass kicked" šŸ˜‚

I will say while I enjoy the convenience of thumbnails as I too don't fancy to see a gigantic, forum breaking image of a soyjak while someone autistically writes MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE or some stupid faggy shit like that, I genuinely fucking hate how Null has coded the thumbnail resolution.

He's so fucking incompetent he can't softcode a way for thumbnails to not look like absolute DOGSHIT when resized slightly upscaled so you can at least actually fucking see the contents of the image if they have text.

Not everyone is going to click on an image, josh. The only reason ANYONE would do that is if they're screenshots from chat leaks, and even then many won't be arsed to do so and instead will just zoom in their browsers.

he's technically right, plus it brings up the main point which is that racism and sexism mainly doesn't exist because despite it being based on 1950s retrofuturism its still a game from the 90s so socially its that despite it probably seeming odd for a game based on 50s futurism.

the whole "no microchip but everything's a nuke" is another bit of lore. even in the original lore just racism/sexism/homophobia in general is non-existent, whites can be tribals just like anyone else but social values are all pretty late 90s level leftist.

they don't really have trannies but everything else is socially accepted by most everyone without passing comment. Vault city is bigoted but in that silly kid show way where its a list of values and you can be a black lesbo and still be let into the city if you pass, or even become the leader

i can't name a single good interaction anyone has ever had with the guy, best case scenario he's a guest on a show and he can control his personality by basically being a talking head for a retarded subject, but overall he sucks. there isn't a single chat or post where he isn't being an annoying pain in the ass that everyone just tolerates. He's less like the "leader" and more like the janitor/security guard. like if you remember Bud from Kill Bill 2, its that. the only reason people tolerate him is that he keeps the site up.

You know you are dealing with a true lolcow when you want to punch them in the face not because you hate them, but because it would be funny. Just like Ethan Ralph in Portugal. And that's really what it is dude lol. I don't want to see him get beat up because I want him to get his ass kicked, I just want to see the look of fear and the realization of how badly he fucked up after that first punch connects.
