">Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK will issue national bans of the social media platform formerly known as TwitterI hope you believe in little-i internets. You're in one."
joshy fears the "little i internet" and the drop in updoots that is going to happen.
Being fair here, some of the so-called "U.S. allies" are just taking the mask off and are going full China on their own citizens now.
If you know anything about the anglosphere countries (the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada) aren't exact free speech havens; there are people that live in these countries that got arrested (and sometimes served jail time or prison time) because they posted an edgy meme, made fun of women, made fun of troons, made fun of the LGBT community, criticized how European governments are handling the migration crisis, and consume certain pop culture works that said cucked government may find to be subjectively offensive.
Now to be fair here, there is a least a reason why most of the anglosphere wants to ban Twitter now and it's because Elon Musk fucked up by not putting any guardrails that would prevent Grok from undressing real people on Twitter and create AI-generated nudes of said real life individuals. So there is at least a legitimate reason to punish Twitter over this.
But let's be real here. The UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada were looking for any reason or excuse to ban Twitter within their jurisdictions because the governments for these countries don't want to lose control of their narratives. If it wasn't for the AI shit then it would've been something else that would give these cucked governments a reason to ban Twitter in the first place. The real reason why most of the anglosphere wants to ban Twitter is because more of their citizens are realizing that their own citizens are stating to see through the lies these governments have feed them over the past few decades; the AI shit is just an excuse for these governments to have a reason to take away their people's ability to speak out.
The only anglosphere country (while not perfect) that has the strongest free speech protections is the United States (because the First Amendment). Part of the reason why you're able to obtain copies of The Anarchist Cookbook or The Turner Diaries in America is because while many people will find those works to be offensive, they're still protected by the First Amendment. If you try to read The Turner Diaries in the UK and you're caught with that book, you will be arrested and most likely serve jail time under the UK's bullshit hate speech laws.
I don't think I can blame Jersh for dunking on the angloshpere because it's clear the that most of the anglosphere doesn't abide to the American values of freedom.
I have my own objections to Trump but if there is one good thing that Trump has done is that he's already put sanctions on some UK officials and he's even put sanctions on some European officials for trying to push for Internet censorship on Americans. Trump has even threatened to enact Russian-syled sanctions towards the UK if they do ban Twitter and other similar platforms. I hope Trump expands these sanctions to the other anglosphere countries because it's clear they don't like American values when it comes to freedom and the anglosphere countries that hate American values should be held accountable.
I hope Trump sanctions the other anglosphere countries over their attempts to censor the Internet, I really do.
