Either way, sounds like part of his scorn for all things Japanese comes from him being filtered by the language and cultural barrier. It's one thing to have personal preferences and dislike something, it's a whole other thing to do a 180 based on whether you succeed or fail at it. Grapes too sour, Josh?

So Josh tried to become a "weeaboo" (forgive me for using this retarded word) in order to pursue a career but found out he hated it. And, out of a misguided sense of shame he turned around and began to hate everyone who he perceives as being like him when he was 18. Really reminds me a lot of all those autistic people who would heap hate on Chris Chan just to feel superior to someone they felt was below them on the autism totem pole.

For those that don't know the story, back in 2020 when Hololive EN and VTubers in general started taking off in the West, Brittney Venti, one of the more popular commentators in the anti-SJW/dissident right sphere, made a bunch of Tweets and videos calling out VTubers, particularly Gawr Gura. Her rhetoric was very similar to a lot of the things Josh is currently saying, calling VTubers pedobaiters, calling their fans manchildren and pedophiles, etc...

Brittney Venti proceeded to get mocked by every corner of the Internet, to the extent that it pretty much destroyed her career. She will forever be known as the e-girl who got jealous of an anime shark girl.

If Null and Kiwi Farms decide to declare Total VTuber Death, the same will likely happen to them. While VTubers are cringe and their fans are annoying simps, VTubers are ultimately harmless and the anti-VTuber crowd is just as annoying, if not worse than the VTuber stans.

Not quite. The doxxing does cause issues. Especially when groups outside the farms get a hold of the dox.

I believe the leftoid antifa faggots got Kirsche's dox from the farms and threatened to kill her using that info. Kiwi Farms may not cowtip*, but external groups do.

* Kiwi Farms says they have a rule against cowtipping, but they let it slide as long as it can't be traced back to the Farms.

exactly, its been argued that the #itgetsbetter campaign literally started from gay lolcows offing themselves, Tyler Clementi was inviting a half dozen middle aged dudes into his dorm room to have orgies.

Then there's amanda knox and other big suicides that really turned up the heat on anti-bullying shit. but it was mostly the fact that hate crime laws would fuck over trolls.

Another thing is that back in the 2000s, it was a lot fucking easier for a lolcow to just vanish from the internet, like chris chan did when he started socializing at gay bars instead of online. but thanks to smart phones enabling people and the panopticon of recording people in public that has become a social norm, you're fucked. Maddox recent video proved this, like he still won IRL because everyone in that realm abandoned dick immediately but Maddox hasn't been able to do anything online in over a decade. So now cowtipping is back on the menu because its impossible to run away from in the way you used to be able to in the early 2010s.

Another big part is that in the form era of the 2000s cow tipping might lead to escalations and forum wars, IIRC the ED Singers on Encyclopedia Dramatica and the pro and anti-trolls surrounding them are a big reason why the site imploded in the first place.

now we're in an era where most cowtippers pick targets that can't/won't be able to get people on their side defending them. think about Rekeita and Aaron, everyone admits aaron is a lolcow and worthy of hate but that doesn't stop the cowtipping types from propping him up as an idiot hero. Destiny has a dedicated base but they can't really lash out vs the cowtippers on the farms. Even the threat of federal and international law doesn't matter now.
