I recall her being extremely pissed off when Null decided to purge DM threads without warning that they would automatically be purged if they'd had no activity for several weeks. A lot of background information was lost when that happened.
Some of those DM chains had been going for years. Others were the information gathering which happens before threads are posted, making sure everything is archived before the thread subject DFE.
Had people been forewarned, they would have either downloaded the info or bumped the DM chains so they weren't purged.

He did it because DMs were exposed in the great Kiwifarms hack of 2019. In retrospect it was a pretty dumb decision as it does nothing to mitigate any hack.

You shouldn't be asking me this question, you should ask this very question to whomever organized this downvoting raid and got all those sockpuppets in a bunch. Clearly they are the ones who are "carrying about stickers" enough to organize such a direct action. I didn't care that much because all of my other posts were popular, so there was no way they could ruin my count, though they clearly did give it a try. The point is that Null and his mods didn't care about the fact that someone was registering sock puppet accounts to engage in downvoting raids. The fact that this particular down-voting raid against me was unsuccesful, doesn't mean that whomever was behind this raid didn't manage to scare off other, less established accounts through other raids.
On a forum that wasn't run by a manipulative sadist, such an incident would've been investigated by the mods or by Null. On KF, it was ignored.
That's the point I am trying to make, trying to highlight the general carelessness and indifference towards all the users who in the end are the ones who supply the material that Null uses for his monetized podcast so he doesn't have to do any research of his own.

How can you be sure it was a raid and not just people who disagreed with you? It is normal to be downboated when you go against the grain. Don't take it to heart. You could be completely, objectively right but will still get downdoots in an anti-vax thread, for instance.
Because a lot of these accounts were entirely new accounts with almost no posting history who apparently only exist to engage in raids.
That has happened to me before, but never to this extent. This particular raid literally went on for days into weeks. That plus the fact these were mostly new accounts with no posting history led me to the conclusion that this was an organized downvoting brigade, not just Kiwis organically downvoting one of my posts because they just disagreed with me.

Josh got rid of striked usernames of banned users years ago. Probably, because he doesn't want people seeing how many users he's personally spergbanned. The only true method of determining who is banned nowadays is to see if the someone's username appears on the search bar.
