i don't think so, autistic people overall were a lot more socially aware back in the 80s because they were forced to be. he couldn't just retreat to the internet. a great example is Dan Ackroyd, he's obviously autistic, but he was forced to socialize so he was about as normal at 22 as chris chan is at 44.
