In the last 6 months two power users killed themselves, that user Cats who seemed like a schizoid with a cat obsession and that BrunoMattei guy. When other posters went digging into their personal lives they found smoldering wreckage, Cats had a girlfriend leaving him among other things. His posts leading up to his death were increasingly Kiwi Kultish, rambling about how much he hated trannies etc. which I'm guessing helped drive his SO away. Bruno lived in a type of squalor that should have earned county intervention and his family hated him. He also wrote very young Null-esque "literature" about raping people and theatrically mutilating them. I think most posters there are somewhere between these two in real life and as they get older most will have the same exit plan, for every one of them where the identity is known there will be a dozen or more that just stop posting.

The EBT stuff has really made me think about what a psychotic hellhole that site is, on one hand you have hundreds of these people posting about how they want nigger children to starve and trannies to hang and then you have the same people participating in mundane things like cooking and gardening threads. These same people also seemingly wanting to present as "normal" and want to be seen for their contributions and have friendships in this environment which is insane if you think about it even a little bit. Unless you're as crazy and deluded as Null this stuff has to hollow you out eventually and the center can't hold.

surprised no one in the destiny thread called out Null for the EBT countdown clock or the thread of people going "TND!" and being giddy about it while Null tells them its a bad look to make fun of destiny for being raped.

I think at this point we can collectively agree that 'muh-Think of the Children' is a midwit argument used to justify authoritarianism.

The UK's Online Safety Act has been a mega disaster for the UK to the point where the britbongs now have to use Tor and VPNs just to access the the rest of the Internet and for many UK tech firms it's the final straw to finally move their operations to America due to the UK's already burdensome regulations. Countries like the UK that often use 'muh-Think of the Children' as a argument to police the Internet usually end up becoming pariah states because their extreme devotion to a political ideology ends up destroying human rights within their own jurisdictions.

And somehow Kiwi Farms thinks they're any better when a lot of them want ID verification for the Internet and not realize this would in turn make America into a pariah state just like China, Russia, and more recently the UK.

I do agree that society has the obligation to protect children from society's most dangerous individuals but this should never come at the cost of sacrificing human rights to achieve this.

To quote Benjamin Franklin, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." The less sexy aspect about Freedom is responsibility that comes with it and if you're that willing to have the government fulfill your personal responsibilities on your behalf for you deserve being in the gulag for being stupid by surrendering your rights to the government. Sloth is considered a capital sin for a reason.
