I didn't drop out I just took the GED test when I was in high school because I was sick of school. Once I realized I could breeze through the courses and get a diploma (this was back in 2001 so if you were an active high school student that took the GED and the SAT you would get an actual diploma)
I literally just couldn't do another year. 9/11 had just happened and I knew that sooner or later I was going to join the Army so I just said screw it how can I get through school as fast as possible.
I don't know if that's still an option these days for people in high school but IIRC I think one of the main reasons I was able to do it that way is because all I had left were elective credits (I spent half of my high school years in a charter school so we were able to pick our classes and I knocked the mandatory ones out in the beginning)
Shit, I was able to get my business admin degree in half the time it was supposed to take because I just doubled up on classes
