I would have them make a bunch of websites while experimenting with UIs that will blow "minimalism" design out of the water but unique from old UIs, while also trying to come up with a protocol for sending messages that aren't easy to intercept by software such as wire shark but is quick as TCP.
(I could be just reinventing the wheel with this one)
