Here's one I'm surprised I didn't mention earlier:

21. Both seem intent on infiltrating mediums, fandoms, and otherwise spheres of influence that actually, they don't like all that much. It occured to me earlier today that when asked, Kiwis will bitch about how woke localizers ruin anime and Japanese video games.... but these same Kiwis also call Japanese media "ching-chong ding-dong slop" that only pedophiles like anyway.

One wonders: if they don't even like entertainment media and think that the only leisure activity anyone should partake in is taking nature hikes, why do they care about woke people ruining it? Just like how people like Anita Sarkeesian had admitted they didn't even like video games and yet were totally worked up about how women are portrayed in them.

(Speaking personally, localizer controversies have not hit me as hard as it has Kiwis because... I don't watch or play a lot of modern media. I stick to stuff from before 2010, often much earlier. So a lot of woke trends have missed me entirely. and I'm much happier for it).

Quite a majority of anime series are about teenagers, and made for teenagers, so I do see reasoning, but from the wrong pov.
Anime is slop in general. True. It ain't for pedophiles, either, you have loli and shota for this.

Probably because they want to be the ones who have an impact on this.

Just like how people like Anita Sarkeesian had admitted they didn't even like video games and yet were totally worked up about how women are portrayed in them.

Sarkeesian is a notorious example how lack of proper public beatings was an issue in United Stated. It still is, by the way!
