Going after kids is an easy way to lose in American politics. Tobacco bans started in large part because Big Tobacco execs got caught saying smoking around babies was good because they'd weigh less. Fundies lost when Jerry Falwell claimed Teletubbies was there to turn kids gay. Gays lost in the 70s because they thought NAMBLA was good for kids. People like personal freedom, but they do not so much like forcing it on kids.

even the GOP talking points about it basically revolve around schools. gays and trannies are basically de facto normalized the second you turn 18. Overall the gays and trannies have won that vs where society was in the 90s.

I found the poll on a Twitter account that has since locked it's profile to followers only, so I can't find it and post it here. I think the approval rating for trannies went up to the 60's or 70's compared to the 40's and 50's it was at before Trump became President.
