most people turn to cloudflare (free tier) account for ddos protection when it is a problem. there are other players in the market but youll be paying a few hundred a month for similar services

The joke was that the way you said it--"They also have collapsing buildings made with tissue paper and abandoned cities" (exact copy-paste)--can be read two ways:

Way 1, "China has collapsing buildings made with tissue paper. They also have abandoned cities."

Way 2, "It has buildings made with tissue paper and abandoned cities," the way that some people might say "cakes are made with eggs and dough."

I chose to read it the funny way, because we all need more laughter these days.
