Being a Devil's Advocate here, Hasan Piker is not a good person and I don't think Kiwi Farms is wrong about Hasan being a shitty human being.

I don't think I have to go that much into detail about how Hasan is a horrible person after he shocked his own pet dog because he didn't liked his dog wandering around his bedroom (animal abuse is a tell-tale sign of sociopathic behavior).

There's also the rumor that states Hasan went to a brothel in Germany and that same brothel would get raided by the German authorities over sex trafficking people (including sex trafficking a minor) not long after. Hasan denies ever going to this brothel in Germany and so far this is just a rumor but if this someday gets confirmed to be true then Hasan had his very own Epstein Island moment.

Kiwi Farms does exaggerate the details with their headlines but Hasan isn't a good person by any stretch of the imagination.

I mean considering that Kiwi Farms constantly fedposts about Vivek Ramawasmy everyday where they want him dead over being an Indian, at this point it wouldn't surprise me if it is a honeypot just like Gab or 4chan these days.

It wouldn't surprise me if some users are feds themselves getting people to incriminate themselves over their hatred for minority groups (including minorities that hold public office with the GOP).

Those quotes by Miyazaki where he trashes on anime (like the now infamous 'Anime was a mistake' quote) are faker than the story about George Washington chopping down his dad's cherry tree. It's a good story to teach to kids about why lying is bad but George Washington in real life never did this to his father and Miyazaki never exactly said those things about anime in general.

However, it should be worth noting that Miyazaki does have a complete disdain for most anime and otaku culture in general where he has very unreasonable standards when it comes to entertainment to the point that it's beyond parody.

Even with that said, Miyazaki is an asshole and he's the epitome of that meme where a content creator that makes wholesome content (like Miyazaki) are usually complete assholes while the people that make some dark and fucked up content tend to be some of the most chill and laid back people you can meet.

Some things that Miyazaki did said himself unironically are how he thinks gardening is fascism because you have to kill garden pests to protect your crops (I guess locusts have the right to destroy your food source that you need to not starve), Miyazaki condones Japan's toxic work culture because he's an accelerationist and wants society burn sooner (this is real, I'm not making this up), and he's a complete shithead to his own son (Miyazaki belittles his own son a lot, it's a really toxic relationship).

Miyasaki is an excellent film maker, can't argue with this (I like his films) but Miyazaki both as a person and as a team member for creating content it's clear he's a complete douche. I like his movies but I don't consider Miyazaki to be the absolute gospel authority in regards to Japanese pop culture.

A lot of people like to compare Miyazaki to Walt Disney but it's more accurate to compare Miyazaki to Alan Moore (a famous Western comic writer who's also a complete douche). Never meet your heroes.

Look, half the internet acts like Miyazaki’s some ancient sage who speaks for all artists just because he saw that god-awful crawling-zombie AI demo back in 2016 and said it was an insult to life itself. Fair enough, the thing was disgusting, but the guy barely touches the internet, Ghibli tried Twitter for one year and noped out like it kicked their dog, and he’s spent decades running his studio like a guy who thinks electricity is suspicious. He’s exiled people for using tablets, canned his own kid, and throws tantrums over digital paint while Disney’s in the back room teaching computers to write scripts.

Then you’ve got Kyoto Animation on the other side of the planet, paying real salaries, running an in-house school, giving maternity leave, bringing in therapy dogs after someone burned the place down and killed thirty-six of them, and still putting out absolute bangers without crunching anyone to death. That’s what an actual healthy studio looks like.

I’m not saying Miyazaki’s movies don’t hit harder than anything else out there (they do), but let’s stop treating one old man’s trauma from a single creepy demo like it’s the final word on tools forever. The future isn’t grandpas yelling at crayons; it’s the places that figure out how to make great art without treating people like garbage. He can keep his pencils. The rest of us will keep moving.
