I get what you’re saying, and I honestly don’t even know if I’d ever see combat, especially since we are in peacetime right now, if I even do a combat related job, and how scary my waiver stack is.The reality of it is, the absolute joke of it is @Bear Hammer after you come home, when you've got your discharge and especially if you've seen combat... go read reddit for a couple of hours. Then the absolute fucking HORROR will slowly creep into your mind and you will have the sickening realization that you were dodging rifle fire and IEDs to protect these fucking people. And these fat little creatures with soft underbellies that are chronically online not only expect to be living in a world like this where everything is handed to them in perpetuity, they still have the balls to say fuck this country.
Who would have thought that literally a hundred years of people living like fucking royalty would have made us weak, stupid and entitled?
But even if I would have to go into combat, I'm fine doing hard, thankless work so that others can live soft. That's literally part of the deal with joining the military. I think what people miss is that saying "fuck veterans" or "fuck America" is also part of what makes this country great. That you can say that and not be disappeared or sent to a labor camp, and still enjoy the comfort and safety people like you (and hopefully someday me
The comfort they mock is exactly what is needed to be defended, and they don't even realize it.
