What happened to the Josh who beat his chest, telling the New Zealand government to fuck off claiming that his entire website is US legal? In his pathetic rebuttal to Liz-Fong Jones, Josh said he could raise $150k anytime he wants from his users for legal ventures.

Null is lying out his ass, as the Online Safety Act only applies to online services as opposed to individuals. The Act also doesn't illegalize "hateful" content any more than it actually does, but rather forces online services to block said content from people under 18 and give settings that allows users to filter out hateful content

So what is this actually about? To no one's surprise, it's revenge porn. The Online Safety Act strengthens current revenge porn laws in the UK. Under the new laws, the victim must consent to both sharing in general and well as the sharing of the specific image/video in order for the sharing of any intimate content to be legal. It also forces online services available in the UK to remove anything that is reported as revenge porn or face massive fines. This means that the Destiny leaks would have to be removed from the site, as well as most of the other porn leaks on the site. Rather than having to remove these images, Null blocked an entire country from accessing the website.

You have to wonder why Null is dying on the hill so hard for the Destiny blowjob video. I know the videos doubled or tripled normal traffic when they leaked, but it's not like Null is making any ad revenue, so on the surface he has no reason to defend this video so hard. Is Null secretly selling user information, where the influx of new users made him a lot of money? Is Null gooning to the video of Destiny sucking off another dude?

That guy was just hired by the NZ government, he wasn't an official member to my knowledge and I think Null even admitted to telling him "fuck off" because he knew there would be no retaliation.

Yes the UK is total dogshit when it comes to free speech and they have some of the harshest laws in the developed world when it comes to free speech, the UK hasn't been a free speech zone since the early-2000's (from religious leaders being arrested for saying "Pray the Gay Away", to people being arrested for looking up lolicon doujins, to people being arrested for saying Muhammad from the Islamic faith is a pedophile, and most recently people being arrested for consuming and posting edgy political memes on the Internet that are right-wing in nature).

I agree that the UK is a shithole when it comes to human rights because the UK is suppose to be a developed first-world nation that you expect them to uphold human rights and yet they usually go into the most autocratic direction imaginable when it comes to running a country.

But at the same time I don't feel too sorry for Jersh or the Kiwis because they don't seem to realize them advocating for censorship for communities they don't like most likely will lead to them getting censored as well because censorship is an ouroboros that doesn't just stop at the people or the things they want censored and the person doing the censoring will find themselves getting censored too; the useful idiots for the state get the bullet too when they are no longer useful to a tyrant anymore. Someone will gain power and stay in power but it won't be the useful idiots that advocated for said tyranny in the first place.

Australia is gonna give the UK a run for it's money as the most authoritarian "western" nation. They recently arrested an author for an admittedly disgusting fictional book, calling it "abuse material."

They also plan to start next year to require everyone who uses a social media site to submit their ID, which they claim is for "age verification" but we all know age verification is just a trojan horse for digital IDs.

Null doesn't want them to dox him and crash KF. For comparison, he made Trombonista and Useful_Mistake moderate the Sharty thread so they'd take all the heat from him. It worked, and now both of those mods have their addresses doxed by the soyteens. I'm sure Null is nervous about anyone finding out where his new swamp fortress is.

It's why you don't do business in countries that have draconian speech laws as far as tech goes.

There once was a website called LiveLeak where at its peak was the website to go to if you wanted to find controversial content on the Internet; it was at the time the biggest clearnet shock site where you could find cartel execution videos, terrorist recruitment videos, alleged lost 9/11 media (such as the alleged LOL Superman video), suicide videos, brutal car accidents, people filming themselves committing crimes (such as arson), videos of war crimes that were committed during the War on Terror, and other kinds of fucked up shit. Even Kiwi Farms once used LiveLeak as a source for happenings at the time. Even legitimate journalists used LiveLeaks for their news articles back then.

But there was just one problem. LiveLeak at the time was based in the UK and when the UK started to get stricter with content regulation of the Internet, they forced LiveLeak to take down any controversial content (especially after the New Zealand Christchurch shooting) and this killed the website where they were forced to take down the content that gave people a reason to browse LiveLeak in the first place. LiveLeak would close their doors by 2021; LiveLeak is dead and the UK government killed it.

It's why it's stupid to support censorship because supporting censorship for stuff that can be seen as subjectively offensive is the equivalent of feeding the crocodiles hoping they will eat you last.
