How much was KF impactful when it came to GamerGate?

because I don't remember anyone, including metokur when he was the internet Aristocrat, talking about KF doing anything during that movement. if anything, metokur gave a shoutout to TheRalphRetort when it did an article about it when it was happening, so it makes more sense for Ralph to have a celebration of "the glory days"

Yeah I didn't hear about KF till like 2017-2018. Though t be honest I just watched GG from the sidelines laughing as people doxed and fucked with ech other so maybe it was a big deal and I don't know.

Josh is a complete idiot about GamerGate. GamerGate didn't lose. GamerGate was about a network of corrupt journalists covering the San Francisco indy games scene. The idea that it was about anything else was a charge made by anti-GG. Which Null constantly parrots. It's so fucking bizarre.
GamerGate wasn't about the content of games. It wasn't even about ALL game's journalists.
We won GamerGate when we got the corrupt journalists fired and sunk Gawker media with a multi-million dollar lawsuit. That's... all we wanted to do. It's all we were trying to do.
The things we've been seeing these days with DEI initiatives and companies choosing message over profit did not exist in 2014-2015. This is the DOA Beach Volleyball era. Jiggle physics were the norm. A game like Dustborn was something no one could have seen coming back then.
Things like DEI initiatives were started IN RESPONSE to GamerGate. Saying we didn't win is like saying Germany won WWI because Hitler took power. It's just not true, and it's kind of insane to say on the face of it.

Absolutely none (not that gamergate went anywhere anyway).

It briefly had a gamergate subforum but after Dyn and Hulk and a couple others convinced null gamergate was gay it became an anti sub (archived in the spergatory still).

IIRC those same people decided to fuck with Vordrak during GG and lead him to declare war on null.

From an outside perspective: "former" liberals always carry a certain stink with them wherever they go, and it's fairly obvious to those that were never one.

It infects everything from their rhetoric to the very way they think. I'm personally of the opinion that the difference between a "liberal" and a right winger (I hesitate to say 'conservative' as many of them are said former liberals) is a fundamental difference in values and decision-making, such that one can never really change, only have the Overton window shifted on them.
 
GG did that to a lot of people. Gamers around that time were either apolitical or left wing college kids. I'm fully convinced the whole idea of the Overton window being widely talked online and in the culture about WAS left wing people in Gamergate realizing that it was going to get shifted away from them just because of their race.

None at all, their involvement with Jace and Deagle Nation are the only thing remotely impactful related to GG. The farms didn't hit the public mainstream until the Zoosadists leak happen--at least for me.

The ugly chick didn't really matter. She was just the first thing that made everyone go "Huh?" We figured out there were hundreds (no joke, we had a chart) of relationships exactly like hers. And we said "Hey, you can fuck who ever you want, but don't you think you should have an ethics policy on your site to let readers know there is a relationship here?" And that's when they started calling us ists and phobes constantly. In the end we won. But that just prompted them to take all of their money and connections and turn it into what we've seen recently.

Yeah. That's also something Josh is getting wrong. ZQ never fucked for reviews of her game. Because Depression Quest isn't a game. It's an HTML based Choose Your Own Adventure novel. There never were any reviews of her game from either of her journalist boyfriends.
Instead, they were just calling her "a hot new indy game developer" without her having had made a game. This was very lucrative for her, for instance netting her a Pepsi funded game jam (with JonTron) that fell apart causing Pepsi to shell out a ton of money to ZQ for breach of their own contract. ZQ and her boyfriends took the money to Vegas.
