Reading her own words without desperately looking for an own seems to suggest she knows they have to get pregnant to begin producing milk but doesn't know if they need to go through another pregnancy to continue producing milk after a while.
Which to my knowledge, if you don't lapse in milking them they'll continue indefinitely
