Sounds about right.
If the purple and green lines were a dimmer color and smaller weight, I think it'd be better.
Ideally with all backgrounds the same color, except the rearmost layer (extreme left and right sides, and footer) really should be some kind of pattern or repeating image to set it apart from the content.
