Not every emoji has a skin tone variant. IIRC how you specify it in unicode is the hex code of the emoji and then the hex code of the skin colour accent and it's up to the user's OS to handle it, which is why if they get mangled in processing or if you try to supply a skin colour for any non-skij colour emoji you get the icon followed by the skin colour swatch (it's literally treating it as two consecutive characters)

I made him (and someone else) pretty upset in a conspiracy theory thread when I said biological life is technically possible in places besides earth.
