Add a nickname/display name feature, which changes the name people see, but your real username stays the same. You could even keep a time limit between changing them, as with usernames. I would like to have different names every once in a while.

People should have to stick with the shitty name they picked years ago or make a new account. It's funnier that way and less easy for assholes to try and duck any bad reputations they'd earned under the old name.

At most I can see Null POSSIBLY considering a sort of (Bracketed Nickname) that is changeable above your profile name, but that's really no different than you having the optional quote below your permanent name like now and would probably look clunky and ugly.

Why don't you just put your nickname in there? I haven't been here long but I agree with the presumed reason why changing your name isn't allowed more than twice. Same reason you're not allowed to delete your posts willy nilly. This is as much of a drama site as it is an archival site. Why allow the users to alter and change important things on the fly constantly? Would make backtracking for recording purposes much harder.
