Era Wiki (eragames.rip): Japanese text-based games with an unhealthy concentration in porn. It's probably entertaining for Touhou coomers, since almost every game in there has some relation to Touhou (with the exception of eraMegaten and some others that I've missed).

Realm of the Mad God Exalt: 2D MMORPG with gameplay mechanics that are more or less similar to The Legend of Zelda's early NES releases, may or may not be pay-to-win.

But in all seriousness, here's a recommendation:

Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion - a free horror game that's actually spooky *gasp* and replayable *GASP* and, most importantly, FUN *GASP*

There's also the HD Renovation remake on Unity, but it's not free.

Unity engine is the best engine for any indie game but here's a suggestion I've made before; you can find the Skyrim Creation kit, the base game+updates on TPB and there's a patch you can find to update the game to the current version. I suggest this because there are tens of thousands of mods and support for them that still exists that you can get for free through Nexus and if you're committed enough and creative enough you can use the base game as a template to create a whole new game, and with mods like https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/69993 you can create a multiplayer game and if you have a server to stick everything on you and your friends can play it without having to spend a dime on assets or engines or licenses. Fuck the police.

If you want to go the legit route if you're looking to build a game you can sell, look up games built in the unity engine, it's very versatile

But learning the unity engine can take a long long time, plus you'll need to create or commission the assets for your game.
