Let's be real about Breadtube.
Breadtube was nothing more but a half-assed attempt to revive the New Atheism movement of the 2000's where much like how New Atheism was a response to George W. Bush and the War on Terror (where Dubya lead America into various unpopular wars along with the Religious Right supporting said unpopular wars at the time), Breadtube was a response to Trump and MAGA where many Leftists felt that Trump poses a threat to everything they worked so hard for to make the West more progressive.
At least you can make the argument that New Atheism was at least organic because the Internet back in the day was more niche and smaller and there was very little incentive for any governments to fund online movements like New Atheism. But with Breadtube, everything about Breadtube is faker than Barbie's boobs because when Trump came to power, various world governments began funding Breadtube as part of an information war and they failed to sway people from the Populist Right.
I remember seeing a bunch of retarded articles back in the day that stated how people like Contrapoints is squashing Right-Wing extremism on the Internet but that clearly isn't true because you can make the argument that the Online Right is far more radical than how it was back in 2016. It was clearly an astroturf by the world's elites as part of an information war to sway people from Right-Wing thought and this failed (especially after Trump took away USAID money from state sponsored propaganda where Breadtube saw their revenue diminish almost overnight).
But with that said, let's go back to Contrapoints. Seeing Contrapoints getting cancelled by people from their own side is hilariously sad to see. It's like how progressives back in the day used to worship J.K. Rowling as a goddess due to her left-wing views but the moment J.K. Rowling made statements that show she didn't fully support trans rights, suddenly J.K. Rowling became the Bogyman for the trans community and for progressives everywhere.
It's the same with Contrapoints where Contrapoints questions the sincerity from those on the Left in regards to Palestine (do they really support Palestine as a sovereign nation or are left-wingers just grifting for good boy points) and this has gotten Contrapoints being cancelled by other people from the Left for not fully committing to Palestine.
It reminds me of how Lindsay Ellis got cancelled by other people from the Left which caused her to leave the Internet for a while because she was arrogant to think being a left-winger made someone a good person only to get burned by the same ideology she supported. It's the same with Contrapoints where Contrapoints arrogantly thought being a left-winger automatically makes you a good and ethical person only to be burned by other people from the Left as well.
Bedsides, much like New Atheism, Breadtube was filled with kooks and pseudointellectuals that thought they were smarter than the average person when Breadtube was basically midwit central. Much like New Atheism, we're now seeing Breadtube collapsing because the people that used to religiously watch Breadtube are growing up and facing the real world and realizing that Breadtubers in general have always been fucking retarded (much like how many edgy teenagers back in the 2000's outgrew their Atheism phase when they realized New Atheism was filled with loser neckbeard retards wearing cheap Walmart fedora hats that were never any smarter than an average religious person to begin with).
