I am going to throw this out and see what you folks think of this. Let’s hold a content contest.

You come up with a topic that generates substantial interest with pulling power that will keep people coming back for more.

Here are the eligibility requirements:

It is not Kiwifarms related.

It has to be something that would appeal to not only our community but to the mainstream audience

There will be three prizes;

First place: A $50 gift certificate to Five Guys Burgers. Take your family out and have dinner on me.

Second place: A $25 gift certificate to Starbucks or whatever your favorite coffee joint is.

Third place: a small green appreciation sticker on your profile.

How to install or how to configure?

For me installation would be, install PHP, tweak the web server config,

tar xf mediawiki.tar /var/www

and create a database and set permissions. Something like that. I'll try it in a VM maybe this weekend.

I think for your managed web hosting whateverthefuck it's just clicking "Install" and crossing your fingers.

I'm not sure exactly how you configure it, but it can't be that hard if EDiots have done it like 5 times now. Per the documentation, there is a wizard that guides you through the process.

The problem is solved but I think I am going to go with the DokuWiki rather than Mediawiki. This is a lightweight wiki that is a lot easier to edit and update then mediawiki.
