More like he just isn't masculine, like he says he is "abused" by his wife because she says mean things to him lol. I think it's mostly because Internet common sense ("ignore the trolls, be careful of what you post because it will be on the Internet forever") is what almost everyone is aware of now, it's literally taught in schools now. It's ingrained in a lot of people's brains.
