Lodge cast iron pans

You shouldn't be putting anything into a cold pan, not even the oil you're cooking with.
 
Too hot is also bad, especially for eggs
That's true also.

I do find most of the time when people complain that food sticks to their cast iron pans it's because they're throwing a cold chunk of meat into a cold pan and then immediately trying to shuffle it around.
