I'm sure it was a issue when we burned British flags during the revolution. Its gay to make burning the American flag illegal goes against the 2nd amendment. Also, my sister lives in D.C. and walks through the city by herself every night. She has not been attacked by criminals a single time. The National Guard wasn't even deployed to the areas of D.C. that actually have the highest crime. It was deployed to the touristy areas where very little crime happens, because the only reason that the National Guard was deployed to D.C. was as political intimidation.
As of right now, the National Guard are literally just spreading mulch picking up trash in D.C. - except that it's the most expensive trash cleanup in history, and the cost comes right out of the taxpayers' wallets. It's an absolute insult to what the National Guard is actually supposed to be.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because your sister can get away with it does not mean that there's not violent crime in the area.
See now you don't know what you're talking about because you're not military. The national guard would not go out to the places with the highest crime rates, they would station at places that have lower crime rates. It's called having a tactical advantage. Eventually they will go to those places that have higher crime rates once they've established a base and secured the less dangerous areas.
