Controversial and renowned Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has openly criticized his ex wife, May Edochie, over her choice of words during her 2023 reflection post. It all started with Yul Edochie's 2023 reflection post. In his post, he expressed gratitude to God for a great 2023. He stated that 2023 was his best year yet. However, many fans took to criticizing him for his super insensitiveness because he said 2023 was a great year despite being the year his 16 years old son slumped and died.
However, his estranged wife in her 2023 reflection post was full of grief and sadness due to the fact that Yul abandoned their marriage that year and she lost her first son, too. Her post went thus: “Dear 2023, you were pregnant on the very first day of Jan. unknown to anyone what you would deliver. You dealt with me in the most catastrophic ways. Too many misfortunes and the worst of it you stole my own flesh and blood leaving me in the most miserable state that I could never have imagined.”
Following her post, Yul Edochie berates her claiming that she is only being emotionally manipulative and claps down on the fact that despite being faced with a myriad of loss and grief in 2023, she (May) went ahead to get a breast enlargement and a tummy tuck. He went ahead to make an Instagram post that stated:
“2023 stole your flesh and blood, but you still had time to do breast enlargement surgery and tummy tuck without your husband’s consent. Obviously endorsed by your married boyfriend. Enough of the manipulation on social media for people to hate me and feel pity for you while you enjoy your life secretly. Because they don’t know the real you. I will not take it in 2024. I have been silent for too long. I have been doing my best to protect your image while you are doing all you can to destroy mine.”
The estranged couple have been the talk of 2023 ever since May Edochie refused to accept Yul Edochie new wife, Judy. According to May, they never had a conversation about Yul ever marrying a second wife. Yul has long moved out of his matrimonial home to be with his new wife. Following this event, many fans have been on the side of May, eulogizing her as a strong woman, coupled with the recent loss of her and Yul's first son.
