US states must reject Israel boycotts to receive federal emergency funding

US states and cities that boycott Israeli companies will be denied federal aid for natural disaster preparedness, the Trump administration has announced, tying routine federal funding to its political stance.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency stated in grant notices posted on Friday that states must follow its “terms and conditions.” Those conditions require they certify they will not sever “commercial relations specifically with Israeli companies” to qualify for funding.

The requirement applies to at least $1.9 billion that states rely on to cover search-and-rescue equipment, emergency manager salaries and backup power systems among other expenses, according to 11 agency grant notices reviewed by Reuters.

The requirement is the Trump administration’s latest effort to use federal funding to promote its views on Israel.

The Department of Homeland Security, the agency that oversees FEMA, in April said that boycotting Israel is prohibited for states and cities receiving its grant funds.

FEMA separately said in July that US states will be required to spend part of their federal terrorism prevention funds on helping the government arrest migrants, an administration priority.

The Israel requirement takes aim at BDS, the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement designed to put economic pressure on Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian territories. The campaign’s supporters grew more vocal in 2023, after Hamas attacked southern Israel and Israel invaded Gaza in response.

“DHS will enforce all antidiscrimination laws and policies, including as it relates to the BDS movement, which is expressly grounded in antisemitism,” a spokesperson for Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said in a statement.

The requirement is largely symbolic. At least 34 states already have anti-BDS laws or policies, according to a University of Pennsylvania law journal. The BDS Movement did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The American Jewish Committee supports the Trump administration’s policy, said Holly Huffnagle, the group’s director of antisemitism policy. The AJC is an advocacy group that supports Israel.

Under one of the grant notices posted on Friday, FEMA will require major cities to agree to the Israel policy to receive a cut of $553.5 million set aside to prevent terrorism in dense areas.

New York is due to receive $92.2 million from the program, the most of all the recipients. Allocations are based on the agency’s analysis of “relative risk of terrorism,” according to the notice.

What's rather amusing is that absolutely everyone who has ever flung baseless accusations of pedophilia at me has turned out to be a pedophile themselves. Patsy on rDrama (who I now know is part of pedophile sextortion groups) is another perfect example. My proven track record is one of shutting down pedophiles and sending the feds to their doorsteps, and pedophiles fear me for it, hence why they have to resort to desperate projection like this. Everyone who uses the Shiwi regularly is a pedophile, and that's pretty much a statement of fact. Hell, the Shiwi's most active user - Satoko_Fans_Arent_White ("Anonymous Against Foodism") - is a pedophile foodist who was in the same Discord server as Solomon Henderson and helped run the pedophile site Chud.win.

You're going to need some citations there.

It's just hence. And... in my experience, most of the nonce hunters... well...
Police in Canada have arrested members of a vigilante “pedophile-hunting” group, charging them with distribution of child abuse images, amid frustration over the group’s controversial tactics.

Quebec police announced on Thursday that six people had been arrested as part of an investigation into a group that had drawn complaints from the public.

Five of the suspects, all in their mid-to-late 20s, face charges of distributing the images, with some also charged with criminal harassment, intimidation and forcible confinement.

A sixth person, a 40-year-old man, faces criminal harassment, intimidation and forcible confinement charges.

Police in the city of Gatineau say members of the group who were involved in the “hunt” would film their meetings with alleged pedophiles after contacting them online, posting the clips widely on social media.

But in order to lure people, the group used sexually explicit photos, faked to give the appearance that the subjects were underage.

“There were exchanges of photos during conversations [online] and what the law says, when you share a photo, that it is explicit pornographic material and that you claim that it represents a person of age minor, even if it really isn’t, it becomes child pornography,” constable Andrée East told the Canadian Press. “It’s considered as such, even if in truth it doesn’t really represent the body of a minor person.”

For more than a decade, Quebec police have been pleading with the vigilante groups to stop their “hunts”. In January, after receiving multiple complaints, the police issued a release again warning people against involving themselves with “cyberpredator hunters” in the region.

None of those targeted by the group have been charged by police.

Law enforcement agencies across the country continue to grapple with the proliferation of online vigilante groups that attempt to catch pedophiles.

One investigation found the group ensnared innocent people by manipulating chats and messages to give the appearance of impropriety.

One group, Creep Catchers, has long frustrated police for their methods, which at times have interfered in police investigations and come with tragic consequences.

In 2016, a woman in Alberta took her life months after she was confronted by the group.

In 2017, police arrested the head of the Surrey Creep Catchers, Ryan LaForge, on an outstanding warrant as he attempted to arrest someone he claimed was a pedophile.

That same year, Quebec police arrested William Drapeau in Sherbrooke after he tried setting up fake sexual encounters.

In addition to the charges announced on Thursday in Quebec, officers seized digital materials and found a firearm that was stored improperly.

“In no case can a person take justice into their own hands, even if they are the victim of a crime, whatever it may be,” the police said in a statement."

All of that has absolutely nothing to do with me. The claim that I'm a pedophile who has been banned from multiple other forums for being a pedophile is blatantly false. Absolutely nobody thinks that I'm a pedophile other than SmallAnus/Shroot and his small clique of butthurt losers on the Shroom/Shiwi, and I highly doubt that even they genuinely believe it. SmallAnus accuses literally everyone who he doesn't like of being a pedophile, and one doesn't exactly have to be a psychology major to understand the psychological implications of this.
