I am Canadian and I think there's lots we can learn from the US and other places. The US has good self defense laws (depends on the state of course) where ours are so retarded you get federal weapons charges for carrying mace for self defense.
They're also more advanced on disability rights than us, with federal accessibility legislation called the ADA they've had for decades. Canada has no equivalent except a fairly recent provincial law in Ontario.
The US has private liquor sales where many Canadian provinces have overpriced public liquor stores. PPP ranted about it once:

This is true, I know of someone who died of lung cancer before she got MAID even though she wanted MAID for years to not suffer end-stage cancer. She got palliative care at the end instead.
