Language Origins of "Nigger" " Negro" "Niggardly" and similar words

Discussion of the use, origins of language
Because those others don't come with the baggage of slavery, Jim Crow, lynching, and so forth.
I will be honest, I can get where you’re coming from. Unfortunately, many people who use that word are often unironically racist and violent

But like
Too bad tbh. It’s still silly to censor them, Ken.

You have to censor manually and that means looking at each post on an individual basis and making an individual judgement on what alternative term would be the best fit. It doesn't necessarily mean the post will be "nicer". Terms such as "asswipe" are still pretty vulgar but it is still better than "nigger".

No. I agree with our resident Negro sperg. It lost meaning when blacks began flinging it around indiscriminately and it's used in rap music all the time. Either no one uses it, or we all use it, but making OK for one group of people-and mind you, that's only a small group that has access to political power-to regulate the use of certain words to pursue a narrative is how woke nonsense got out of control. Someone in my office insisted the word "Negro" was racist, despite showing them that it's used in US Census. It's also how a black, low IQ minor politician once began frothing at the mouth when the word niggardly was used at a government function despite it having nothing to do with blacks, the word black or the-word-that-shall-not-be-named. It means miserly and has been in common English usage for centuries. He still doubled down and demanded it not be used because it "sounded" like the-word-that-shall-not-be-named.

That said it's used mainly by hood rats and white trash, so I understand why Null loves using it.

"Negro" started to fall out of favor around 1966. It was actually advocated by Booker T Washington and then W.E.B. DuBois in the 1920s over the term "colored". It's complicated: Here is a more detailed history

As for the word "niggardly" you are right on the money.

The word "niggardly," meaning stingy or miserly, has a history rooted in Middle English and Old Norse, and is etymologically unrelated to the highly offensive racial slur it resembles.
Etymology and Origin
The word's origins can be traced back through several stages:

Middle English: It first appeared in the late 14th century as nigard or nygard, meaning a "mean or stingy person, miser".

Scandinavian Roots: The root word likely derives from a Scandinavian source, possibly Old Norse hniggw, related to the adjective hnøggr meaning "stingy" or "close". This is also related to the Old English word hneaw.

Germanic Connection: The Proto-Germanic root khnauwjaz connects it to similar words in other Germanic languages, such as the Swedish njugg ("close, careful") and German genau ("precise, exact").

The adjective "niggardly," meaning "sordidly parsimonious, stingy," appeared later, in the 1560s, formed from the noun niggard with the addition of the suffix -ly.

"Nigger" is the most necessary word in the English language, because every language needs strong words to insult others with. Words like "asshole", "motherfucker", "cunt", and even slurs like "retard" and "faggot" have lost their power over the years, so "nigger" is the best word we have. Nigger ought not be a racist slur. 4chan and Kiwis are progressive in how they call everyone niggers. Only a nigger would be against progress in the English language.
