Old Games that Still Hold Up

So I like old DOS games. Mostly because they are dumb and quaint compared to the huge budget crap that gets churned out these days.

Some obvious front-runners are DOOM, and of course Quake. But I also have fond memories of Prince of Persia, and Oregon Trail.

What are some old shit games that you guys love?

Just about everything Nintendo and Capom have put out. Unless it's on the Atari I also don't really get comments about games "aging." Assuming it isn't broken fundamentally fun gameplay isn't really hindered by graphical limitations.

Favorite ones that don't get enough attention are Captain Commando and Comix Zone.

Any game that was good when it was released is good today, with the expection being NES games or older as they tended to be artificially difficult to stretch out game length and haven't learned how to break away from arcade format yet.

Transport Tycoon/OpenTTD. I think these can be counted as one and the same, because OpenTTD circa 2021 looks and plays almost identically to Transport Tycoon circa 1994 (albeit with much larger maps and greater control over train signalling/routing).
