Watching MATI, although not my cup of tea, is understandable. I just don't get what need there is to form a community around it? It not like its extremely interesting or ground breaking.
I enjoy it as a podcast to get a snippet of some retardation or other that I haven't personally been following up on. Like I think he covered the Frontier nonsense yesterday, and I haven't been following the thread so it was all new to me.
I also generally find the people who run shit like the chans or KF to be interesting from a sense of morbid fascination, so even his story about aphids and gardening is of interest to me. I don't think he's necessarily a bad host, even if he somewhat lacks gravitas in delivery. I suppose it comes with the territory of maintaining these kinds of places, though; not much experience building charisma.
But even from this perspective, I don't really get the discord. Seems like the big draw is that it's just a place to spam politically incorrect shitposts, with the upswing of making it easy to run polls or conduct interviews or something.
