To answer the obvious question. There is no primary genetic basis for gender. There is no "gender gene"; the same way there is no "gay gene" that has been identified.
What people refer to as "gender" are just secondary sexual characteristics and social behaviors largely motivated by the effects of sex hormones. Men who have to take spironolactone for genuine medical purposes, for example for high blood pressure, or for ascites often experience emotional and physical side effects such as erectile dysfunction, depression, gynecomastia, etc; because while spironolactone is prescribed as a diuretic, it's also used in conjunction with HRT estrogen as an anti-androgen/testosterone suppressant.
Men put on Spiro for genuine purposes can experience a shift, often noticeable, in their "gender expression" because it acts on the androgen receptors to block the uptake of testosterone and DHT.
If a person's behavior can be chemically altered despite living their lives as a man, knowing they're a man, etc then "gender" is a bullshit idea. It doesn't exist as an intrinsic property of the Self.
