No goofy, lobotomies "worked" because they destroyed part of the brain and stupefied the patient so they wouldn't have suicidal depression or psychotic mood swings anymore, it was a quick and dirty fix for "my bitch wife cries all the time and I can't fuck her when she's like this" or "my son is having violent rages and can't conform to highly conformist 1950s society or make me proud". It was a caveman tool to reform family members into what the man of the house wanted, because back then everyone in the house was basically owned by him.

On the other hand gender affirming care is extremely successful, every trans person says it's the best thing they ever did. The only outliers are detransitioners who have psycho controlling families or are grifting that make up 1% of that 1%.


Arguing about this is useless because the literature is already out there and nobody who thinks this way is being objective or truthful, it all comes down to believing you own other people and know what's best for them despite not attending medical school or caring about the patient's actual experiences.
