If it's to be believed that Jersh still lives in Florida then him living in one of the most hot and humid states in America have probably caused his drives to prematurely die.

Prolonged exposure to excess heat from the environment around his main server and improper cooling has probably caused the drives to fail. Think of putting your laptop on your bed for long periods of time, your laptop is going to quickly get hot because your bed sheets act as an insulator to trap much of that heat and prevents your laptop from being properly cooled (if you keep doing this then the drive or other parts of your laptop will cook itself to death). It's why they sell laptop stands these days so that your laptop doesn't just stay being in contact with your bed sheets and your laptop can properly disperse heat by having full contact with the air around your device.

So I imagine Jersh's shitty redneck trailer that he lives in probably isn't suitable to disperse the heat and humidity away from his expensive electronics (I guess it isn't just troons that Jersh has to worry about as mother nature herself also wants Kiwi Farms gone lol). Dehumidifiers and window AC units are cheap and if Jersh doesn't want a big electric bill then he can always do a DIY solar project to provide proper cooling and dryness to his home datacenter while not having a big electric bill.

There is also human error. Jersh probably misconfigured a driver or two that could've lead to the premature death of his main drives (so despite what Welper says about Jersh about being some tech whiz, I'm pretty sure Jersh being an amateur web master has probably done something that would shorten the lifespan of his drives much earlier than expected).

I have little reason to believe that Jersh's current SAS drives were defective as they are designed to run for prolonged periods of time and take some abuse (it's one thing if a drive or two fails but the fact that most of his main drives have failed means he has done something wrong). Jersh simply sucks at tech and he simply doesn't go the extra mile to take care of his stuff, nothing more.
