Nick was a friend of Josh's and was basically kiwifarm's hero back in 2020, unlike sam hyde or jim, Null didn't have any reason to be angry at Nick and unlike Dick he didn't have the degeneracy or other reasons for the trad parts of the farm to hate him too. He was basically the chosen one for the farms, him being a real e-celebrity instead of just some guy the farms like is another reason they worshipped him.
Much like idubbz he pissed off his former fanbase with his fake persona and thats when people really went after him. As much as we laugh at the Norm Macdonald joke, it really is the betrayal that hurts people more than the crime. A great example of that is destiny, even most kiwifarmers would agree that if you fucked destiny you deserve to have been secretly recorded and be called a whore and have those videos leaked everywhere, because Destiny didn't hide the fact that he was just that much of a sexpest. Rekieta meanwhile was such a Chad Trad Dad that numerous people got their own careers destroyed for claiming he was into 3somes or swinging before people found out about his hedonism 2 vacation. Like people thought they found a hero in Nick because he'd shout out kiwifarms and proudly got his channel taken down because of trannies and got an amazing rumble contract that made him the face of rumble for a few months.

yes on both accounts, Ethan flamed out hard once AF turned on him, between that and May leaving he really didn't become interesting enough to bother watching his boring streams, whereas Nick was at his height and his locals chat chaos along with the hedonism 2 stories really inspiring a hatedom that slowly turned public opinion around on him.
it wasn't a quick switch either, it was about a year and a half between Ethan being there when Chris chan was arrested to Nick Rekieta becoming the Kino Kasino and the farm's #1 lolcow.
However, since his arrest, he has done nothing of note and he appears to have stopped doing drugs and engaging in sexual degeneracy.

Nick is still being milked pretty hard, the fact he was able to win LOTY last year despite not even streaming for most of the year is an accomplishment, and his desperate fanboying of Patrick Melton is hilarious, especially because everyone knows Melton will turn on him and openly treats him like shit already.
I'm more shocked that Nick was able to remain the face of lolcows for about a year despite only streaming a handful of times and having such little internet presence, there wasn't much to milk outside of his court chaos. i'd be shocked if he streamed more than 50 hours all of the last 11 months, someone already said he streamed more in the last 3 weeks than he did from june to march.
you are right that he isn't that good of a "face" and thats probably why you're seeing more internal lolcows like Alex or Lidl getting more attention overall.
