There is a term for something like this, Contrarian.
What is a Contrarian? It's a fancy word used to describe double think and double speak where an individual will hold views that contradict their earlier statements out of pure convenience and for their own benefit (while this usually applies to the 'Enlightened CentristTM' types, this can apply to Leftoids and Rightoids as well). One example of a Contrarian viewpoint is saying something along the lines of how the American government should be less involved in people's lives but then they say that the American government did nothing wrong during the Ruby Ridge standoff and the Waco siege (you cannot advocate for a smaller government while advocating for government overreach at the same time, pick one).
So when it comes to beauty standards in fictional media, the Right isn't wrong when they say that the Left hates beauty standards. So why do a lot of Leftoids hate attractive fictional characters in pop culture media? The answer goes back to the Gamergate years when the Left started to preach that female beauty standards "promotes" misogyny; the reason why female characters in woke pop culture media look ugly on purpose is to reflect the Left's new standards on what they think art should be like which contradicts what the Left preaches in regards to sexual liberation for women. So the Right isn't wrong when they say the Left has lost their artistic merit a long time ago.
However, the Right has plenty of insufferable Contrarians as well. Plenty of Rightoids will contradict themselves on female beauty standards by simply subjectively labeling something as "degeneracy". Rightoids will praise a video game like Marvel Rivals with its more attractive female character designs but then they throw a fit at other video games that do the same thing and label that as "degeneracy" and they demand this stuff to be censored despite wanting more attractive female character designs (even though the stuff that the Right likes and the stuff that the Right doesn't like can both objectively be seen as gooner bait). Afterwards some of the same Rightoids will say stupid shit that goes along the lines of "It's da Joos that are controlling da world!"
So not only do extreme ideologies attract the biggest retards out there but they also attract some of the most insufferable Contrarians that the world has to offer.
