It's gotta be poor communication. Either they suck talking to other people online/texting, or they're ok at that, but in person they suck. I've been in plenty of situations where the chick I met online is a chatterbox when she's facing the screen but then clams up when in person. And then she'll use the "oh I'm just shy" excuse. O.K. if you're shy then why did you even bother making the effort to meet up?

I think it's a timeframe thing, I believe dating post lockdown has changed a lot, it seems to have become an extension of doom scrolling. In my dating days we traveled around in large packs, either meeting people through friends, or talking to people online and inviting them out with the larger group, you then got drunk in the same room multiple times until you eventually hooked up... I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty easy.
