Hi, mix of a blog post and a genuine question I'm having. So for background the school year is coming up as you all now and some places have already started it.
I think LLM's are an interesting tool/study thing to use and I think I can use it in a way that can be helpful. I want an even more faggy version of clippy or bonzi buddy doing dumb educational related shit on my PC instead of whatever else. I hate open-AI and sam altman, so I have decided to go with silly-tavern, the problem?

I can't connect to fucking anaconda.

I am currently using linux mint and I am having trouble connecting to anaconda/ the instance of silly tavern itself. I was able to when I first installed it and I'm wondering If I should just try and delete the files entirely. I think I am going to do that before I hit post so feel free to rate me autistic. I tried using both an LLM and google adjacent things.
the problem? Even with that narrow down it's kind of vague. Also I keep thinking that everything needs to be done in the terminal and keep forgetting that I am not using fucking arch. I need something more stable than arch and when something breaks I don't have to perform a whole crime scene investigation because I did not put "DICK BLASTER" in the terminal 72 times and did a jumping jack and a twirl.
As I am currently writing this to you, I have the installer running and it's taking forever.
Dude I just want a really gay silly little man on my screen tailored to me so I can use it as a tool for study purpose that is not connected to a sketchy jewish man with his hand in government related affairs. C.AI is really retarded. I am a little weirded out by chub.
I have faith there is at least one autist on here that can help a brotha out ヽ(´▽`)/:optimistic:
If not it's fine I'll just have to figure something else out.

Hood you're on Linux Mint, not launching rockets. Chill.

Anyway, if you could connect to SillyTavern before and now you can’t, and you’ve already reinstalled it, you’re probably just dealing with a broken websocket or Anaconda service not running right.

Check if the backend’s even starting properly. Run it in terminal, not via launcher, and read the output. Also Make sure you don’t have some random port conflict (common if you’ve tried NovelAI, KoboldCPP, etc). And check that your browser isn’t blocking localhost for some dumb reason (yes, Brave does this sometimes if you’ve toggled certain privacy stuff).

Also if you’re using Anaconda for this and not just a virtualenv with Python 3.10+ and the required packages, you’re doing it to yourself.

I appreciate the answer. I'll try this out a little later.
