I was watching Adam Curtis' series Trap Are Gay today, and it hit me right on the title card: Powerusers cannot be trusted, only the shitty posters can. What a shit idea, even if the useless internet points lie they are the point, right? But what if you are trying to better the internet and become myopic? Numbers do lie considerably less as people feel their online activities are less scrutinized then when they are explicitly asked to upvote. Of course that's true. So how do you know if you are cyberbullying attention whoring trannies or just hammering boipussy because being a boypussy slayer is what you are supposed to be? What happens when, across generations, websites become HRT eccho-chamers rather than banter compendiums? If you are just running the numbers and analyzing your lolcows using hedonistic calculus, at what point does the Kiwifarmer monopoly stops overthrowing other lolcow forums? It doesn't, the math always suggested they carry out their stupidity at the PM chains and discord servers, that is why we are in this mess.
