It's not defaming if it's true or a reasonable person would come to the conclusion.

Defamation involves three elements
1. You presented a statement of false fact (in other words, the statement was false but you presented it as true).
2. You did so with malicious or reckless intent knowing it would cause harm.
3. It resulted in genuine monetary damages which can be proven in a court of law.
While I am no attorney, I doubt shit-flinging in a lolcow forum would even come close to meeting this standard.

I actually know someone who used to go to the same church as Isaac back when he lived in Plainview. Isaac used to volunteer there all the time, in the late spring of 2009 he got into a heated argument with another member of the church about something he had said to their child while volunteering. The parent reportedly said for him to keep his hands and ideas away from his child or they will call the cops. Shortly after that he moved and never came back.
